ISM stands for Independent Study and Mentor-ship and it is a fantastic program that Frisco Independent School District offers to juniors and seniors in all high schools in the district. This class allows you to study whatever topic you may want to pursue in the future as well as teaches you how to conduct yourself in professional settings. The class allows you to leave class to conduct professional interviews, and, eventually find a mentor to help you learn about your topic. The course requires a passion and a desire to go above and beyond. With the rigorous requirements of the course, it truly helps students gain the experience and knowledge to be successful in college and career.
On this blog is where I will document the entire independent study and mentor-ship process. All the ups, downs, and things that happen on a day to day basis will be posted.
I am very excited for this 2014-2015 school year. I am a senior at Frisco High School this year and I hope a lot of great memories are created. The thing I am most excited for this year, however, is having the privilege of going on an ISM journey for a second time. If I have has as many wonderful experiences as I had last year, this year is going to be great.
